Abs and The Confusion

There has been a great confusion among people regarding abs.

Abs has always been the main concern for most the gym going population. But, there has always been some confusion with this particular body part. Some fitness trainers suggest their clients that by doing abs they can lose fat from their belly while some others say that doing abs is useless and it won’t help in losing fast from belly.

Here are some facts.

Firstly, there is nothing like SPOT TRAINING, means you cannot lose fat from belly if you keep doing leg raises and crunches. Even if you are thinking that by doing squat you will lose fat from legs, you are wrong.

No exercise can directly burn fat from a particular region when that particular region is worked, but every exercise contributes in overall fat loss. So now we can say that if you are doing squat or leg raises or biceps curls, you are losing fat from every part of the body, hence every exercise is good in fat loss.

If this is still confusing, let us make it simple.

  1. You should do abs, because they will help you burn fat just like any other muscle does. You should train each and every muscle. Never miss muscles like Trapezius, Calves, Forearms, Lower Back and Glutes they all together contributes in improving BMR and burning fat.
  2. You should spend more time in training bigger muscles rather than spending most of the time in doing smaller muscle groups. This is the reason why the multiple muscle workouts are given more importance. Exercise like Squat, bench Press, Clean and Press, Dead lift are considered best in losing fat and they contribute in increase the metabolism.
  3. You should do some good number of sets for the abs and oblique muscles but do not consider doing abs as your main workout. Train every body part by the end of a week.
  4. You should train bigger muscles with much more interest and intensity if your target is to lose fat from the waist.
  5. You should enhance your muscles by eating the right food and by providing good nutrition to the trained and broken muscles.

Conclusion

Some people train abs and overdo it almost every day, and there are some others who never train the abdominal, both of them are wrong. You should train abs but not consider training abs as the major workout, you should train other body parts and then spend some time in doing few exercises for abs. Completely ignoring abdominal muscles is also not an good idea. These muscles support in every exercise and maintain the stability and strength. If someone will completely ignore them, he/she may not be able to improve or progress in other workout moves. Workout on your abs like a sweet dish after the main course.
